Before you specify the R-150.
Is the R-150 suitable for offshore wind or oil and gas work?
The manufacturer lists offshore wind cable, platform and pipeline applications. Owner requirements, inspection standards and deployment vessels differ by project, so suitability is assessed per project rather than assumed.
What is needed to deploy it?
At 195 kg the vehicle needs mechanical launch and recovery, deck or quayside space, power and a trained crew. Confirm the full system weight and footprint in the quotation.
Has it been used for seabed sampling?
In early 2025 the manufacturer reports deploying the R-150 from a research vessel in the Yinggehai area off Hainan, China, to inspect the seabed with HD video and take vertical samples for mineral assessment. This is a manufacturer reference, not a project delivered by PanPan Marine.
