RESEARCH PORT
Nanshan research port, Sanya.
The manufacturer operates a public research wharf at Nanshan port in Sanya, about 164 km from waters 1,000 m deep, so deep-water trial sites can be reached in about half a day. It reports 2,152 research and trial voyages supported in 2025, with berthing, equipment testing, supply, data and crew services.

EXAMPLE WORKFLOW
Seabed sampling with an R-150.
For a 2025 seabed mineral survey off Hainan, the manufacturer describes this sequence: the research vessel reaches the target area and surveys it, an R-150 is deployed to the seabed, HD video guides the selection of sampling points, the ROV takes vertical samples, and samples are sealed and labelled for analysis.
