Key specifications.
- Vehicle weight
- 3,300 kg
- Depth rating
- 3,000 m (6,000 m custom on request)
- Payload
- 200 kg
- Dimensions
- 3,000 × 1,700 × 1,650 mm
- Thrusters
- 7 (4 horizontal vector + 3 vertical)
- Cameras
- 1080p front, rear, left and right
- Power

Tasks to assess
- Inspection, maintenance and repair of deep-water engineering equipment
- Deep-sea resource exploration and sampling
- Heavy tooling tasks needing high thrust and payload
Configuration checks
- Match the 3,000 m rating to the project depth with margin; a 6,000 m version is custom work.
- Confirm the vessel, launch and recovery system, umbilical and power supply for a 3.3 t vehicle.
- Specify manipulators, tools and survey sensors, and the crew and training plan.
COMPLETE SYSTEM
Specify more than
the vehicle.
The manufacturer describes a titanium-alloy frame, composite pressure-resistant buoyancy and a high-power electric drive. A 3,000 m rating is not full ocean depth, and the 6,000 m option is offered as custom development rather than an existing delivery. Heavy systems are quoted per project.
Confirm in the delivered scope
- Vehicle, tether management system (TMS) and umbilical
- Launch and recovery system or A-frame interface
- Control container, shore power and software
- Manipulators, tools and survey sensors
- Spares, manuals, commissioning and crew training
Standard, optional and custom items must be listed separately in the quotation.
QUESTIONS
Before you specify the R-4000.
Can the R-4000 work at 6,000 m?
The standard rating is 3,000 m. The manufacturer offers a 6,000 m version as a custom option; depth, components and testing would be defined for that project.
How does it compare with the R-2000?
The R-4000 is rated three times deeper (3,000 m vs 1,000 m) and carries twice the payload (200 kg vs 100 kg), but weighs 3.3 t against 2.2 t and needs a larger launch system.
